About this photograph
Originally known as “Pig Alley,” Court Street was laid out in 1804 to serve the stables and mews behind Washington and Hudson Streets. Its stone setts, laid in the late 1800s, slope inward to drain down the middle. I photographed it almost at street level, catching the streetlights’ warm glow on the worn stones and emphasizing that unusual shape.
Framing and care
Matted: arrives ready to frame, with a conservation-grade backing that fits any standard 11×14 frame, no extra mat needed. Matted and framed: the same matted print in a black frame, ready to hang, for pickup in Hoboken. Hang it out of direct sunlight and handle it by the mat edges or the frame.
